Simple Chai Spiced Hot Toddy

The hot toddy has been my favorite winter cocktail for a long long time. I’m already an avid black tea drinker. This drink has a dash of nostalgia since the first time I ever had it was made by my wonderfully talented bartender friend Connor.  This drink reminds me of curling up in front of a fire, playing board games with friends, and big fat snowflakes falling from the sky.

Black tea bag

Chai Spiced tea bag

Honey

Lemon

Whiskey

In a large mug steep 1 black tea bag and 1 chai tea bag together at the same time for 5 minutes in freshly boiled water. I used Lipton tea for my black tea. My grandmother worked for Lipton for maybe years and always had it in her house. It might not be high end black tea but it’s the kind I like to drink.

Remove tea bags. Stir in 2 teaspoons of honey. Squeeze in one large slice of lemon.

Add in the desired amount of whiskey, I added about one shot. I don’t have a preferred whiskey. Robbers Roost Campsite Cordial is the go-to in our house.

Stir and enough.
